Frequently Asked Questions

How do I calculate crypto profit?
Multiply coins by sell price for total revenue. Subtract total cost (coins × buy price) and trading fees. The result is your net profit or loss. ROI = (profit ÷ cost) × 100.
What is DCA and why does it work?
Dollar-Cost Averaging means investing a fixed amount regularly (e.g. $100/month into Bitcoin) regardless of price. You buy more when prices are low and less when high, smoothing your average entry price. It's the most recommended strategy for beginners.
How is crypto taxed?
In the US, crypto is treated as property. Short-term gains (held <1 year) are taxed at 10–37%. Long-term gains (held >1 year) are taxed at 0%, 15%, or 20%. Every sale, trade, or conversion is potentially taxable. See our crypto tax guide.
Is Bitcoin mining still profitable?
Depends on electricity cost and hardware. After the 2024 halving (3.125 BTC reward), margins are tighter. With cheap power ($0.05–0.07/kWh) and modern ASICs, it can be profitable. At $0.10+/kWh, profitability is marginal. Our mining calculator includes break-even timeline.
What if I invested $100 in Bitcoin 5 years ago?
Use the Investment calculator: enter $100, select 2021, choose Bitcoin. BTC was ~$29,000 in early 2021 and ~$102,000 in 2026 — so $100 would be worth roughly $352. Try DCA mode to see what monthly investing would have returned.
What is a liquidation price?
When trading with leverage, the liquidation price is the point where your losses equal your margin (deposited collateral). The exchange automatically closes your position to prevent further losses. Higher leverage = closer liquidation price = higher risk.
